- When solving a new type of problem you want to create a rule for the new problem type so that if you run into something like this problem then you will know what to do.
Be Systematic & Organized
- Being Systematic and Organized will help you if you are checking how you got the answer and make it easier for you to understand the concept better.
Conjecture & Test
- After you learn a new concept it would be best to test how well you understand the concept.
Solve Simpler or Related Problem
- If you do not understand how to solve a problem the best thing to do is try a simpler or related problem.
Justify and Support
- Once you finish an answer you want to be able to justify and support your answer.
Look for Patterns and Regularity
- Encounter a new type of problem can be difficult so you should look for patterns and regularity in the problem and how you solve it because it can help you when you encounter a similar problem you will be able to use those patterns to help solve the problem.
Be Confident and Persistent
- It is good to be confident and persistent to keep looking for the answer and to be able to stick with your answer when you compare with other student.
Experiment and Play
- Facing a new problem you have to try concepts that you are not used to and experiment around to find the answer.
