1. Describe the task or activity that you were working on.
The assignment was to figure out the differences and similarities of these different shapes. All the shapes were made of half circles and they all have the same bottom half circle. The top would either be the same half circle, or two half circle at the same shape, or two half circle that were different shape.
The class choose to look even further between these different shapes. We figure out the area of all the shapes and came out all different. For the perimeter stayed the same. My table came to the conclusion that it stayed the same perimeter because of the bottom half circle.
2. How is your work here representative of this habit? Identify specific parts that show the "habit in action."
My group first came up with the idea of the perimeter not changing and we used the habit of justify and support by proving all three shapes with the same bottom half circle has the same perimeter.
3. (Answer one) How was this habit useful in helping you make progress with the task or activity? If it was not useful, how might you revise your use of this habit so that it was useful?
This habit was helpful to show the class how a shape can change only losing the area and not the perimeter.
